Tattoo Nightmares – How to Avoid Regretful Tattoo Experiences
Tattoos are great and can be a lot of fun. There’s nothing like getting inked and having a design placed on you that you really like and holds some sort of meaning to you.
But, there are also some very serious horror stories from people getting tattooed. These tattoo nightmares could have been avoided, but unfortunately were not, and now these people have to live with their regretful ink decisions.
Here’s how to avoid Tattoo nightmares:
1. Don’t Do It Drunk! Think about this nightmare: waking up in the morning and seeing a large cartoon character tattooed on your forearm! And then realizing that you aren’t having a nightmare, this is actually real. It’s happened to many folks who wanted to get inked, but needed the booze to go through with it. Unfortunately they end up diving off the deep end. They trusted that bottle of vodka when it told them that a Donald Duck forearm tattoo would be a cool idea. Obviously they were duped, because they were drunk. And that duck now looks pretty stupid.
2. Homemade tattoos. Some people treat tattooing as if it is something you can just erase and do over if you don’t like it. Tattooing is a one shot, only shot deal. Once it goes on, it’s on. So then why do people allow their friends to use cheap ink and smatter some permanent design on their skin when that person has little to no experience in tattooing? They usually rationalize that it’s cheap. But is it really worth it? The answer is always NO. Years later they shrug regretfully at the splotch of worn out green ink all over their arms as it begins to resemble a bad skin condition rather than any sort of tattoo.
3. Research Your Design. It’s amazing how some people just blindly choose a design with no rhyme nor reason. Usually their decision is based on “what’s considered cool” in the moment. But if you go by that lame logic then this is what happens: what’s considered cool this year is going to be laughed at next year. If you want a genuine cool tattoo then do your research. Get a book or go to an online book gallery and search and search for your ideal design. One that speaks to you personally, and one that half the neighborhood does NOT have. Researching your design ensures a much higher rate of having no regrets in your decision
